They Took it Personally

October 3, 2007

The Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D) has raised a stink about Rush Limbaugh.  Reid said that Rush called anyone combat veteran who opposes the war in Iraq a “phony soldier.”  Rush actually did no such thing – he used the term ‘phone soldiers’ in reference to several soldiers who have spoken out against atrocities that they witnessed in Iraq, yet have never been to Iraq.  These fictions have lead to their being prosecuted and discharged from the military.

Harry Reid then passed around a letter for other Senators to sign and sent it to the CEO of Rush’s distribution company, Clear Channel.  The CEO quickly dismissed the claim of the letter saying, “Given Mr. Limbaugh’s history of support for our soldiers, it would be unfair for me to assume his statements were intended to personally indict combat soldiers simply because they didn’t share his own beliefs regarding the war in Iraq.”

Below is a list of the Senators who signed the letter.  Oddly enough, about 90% of this list is simply a roster of people whom, in the past, Rush has skewered for their unpatriotic comments and votes:

Senator Harry Reid, Majority Leader

One Response to “They Took it Personally”

  1. My brother will, on occasion, print family t-shirts and distribute them as Christmas presents.  He’s planning on doing it again this Christmas.  Before, one said “Proud to be a Mundie” in a circle around the year.  The second was made to look like the Colorado license plate with the name “Mundie” and the population beneath it.  He’s asked me to come up with ideas and I immediately thought of you.  When you have a minute to spare, could you throw out some ideas?  If you don’t have spare time, that’s fine of course.  You’re just awesome at it, so I thought I’d ask.
